SAFETY
El Capitan’s Letter of Commitment
El Capitan Environmental Services (El Capitan), is committed to protecting its Employees and Clients employees and property from all accidental losses.
In fulfilling this commitment, every one of us must comply with and adhere to the established safe work practices and environmental and safety rules and regulations which is presented in the program.
Accidental losses can be prevented by management and employees working together to eliminate hazards that may result in fires, security losses, property damage or personal injuries and illnesses. Loss prevention is the direct responsibility of every employee, regardless of job related classification. Everyone is responsible for performing his or her job assignments in a safe and environmentally sound manner, complying with El Capitan’s IIPP and identifying and correcting any unsafe conditions in the workplace.
I trust that all of you will join me in a personal commitment to safety and loss prevention both on and off the job.
DECADES OF IMPLEMENTING SAFE PRACTICES
Plan Purpose and Use
This health and safety plan is developed to assist El Capitan Environmental Services, Inc. (El Capitan) site personnel in understanding and avoiding potential health and safety hazards that may be present at the site. It was developed with the understanding that all El Capitan field personnel will have received 40 hours of training meeting the requirements of 29 CFR 1910.120, and 8-hour annual update training, as appropriate, prior to beginning field work. It is not intended to be binding on other employers' employees who may be present at the site. In order to fulfill the requirements of the OSHA Hazard Communication Standard (29 CFR 1910.1200), if a subcontractor employed by El Capitan will be present on site, the project manager is required to provide the subcontractor with a copy of this health and safety plan prior to the start of the project. The health and safety plan will inform the subcontractor of the potential hazards associated with hazardous substances in the area in which their employees will be working, and will provide information on suggested protective measures.
