El Capitan employs multi-disciplined personnel, whose backgrounds include soil, chemical, civil, construction, and petroleum engineering, as well as heavy equipment operators with extensive hands-on experience in environmental remediation. Additional expertise includes project controls, scheduling, costs saving analysis, agency negotiations, and permitting. El Capitan self-performs all projects and owns a fleet of heavy equipment.
Experience
El Capitan’s compiled experience during the last decades includes removal and cleanup of over 200 USTs and ASTs ranging in capacity from five hundred to two million gallons, excavation and removal of over 2 million tons of contaminated soil containing various hazardous wastes (arsenic, lead, mercury, PCBs, dioxins, PAHs, VOCs, and petroleum hydrocarbons), for both public and private entities.

El Capitan, founded in 1991, owns and operates a fleet of heavy equipment for environmental and construction projects requiring decontamination, excavation, loading, compaction, demolition, etc. This in-house capability allows El Capitan to provide quick mobility, flexibility, and cost-effective services to its Clients. Although environmental projects inherently entail frequent equipment down time due to sampling, waiting on laboratory results, encountering unknowns, and Agencies’ interference or changes of plans, the impact of these conditions on El Capitan is minimal, because of El Capitan’s control over its own equipment.
El Capitan’s benchmark philosophy is to translate its knowledge and experience into bringing about a cost effective and practical solution to facilitating Client objectives and bridging the gap between project participants and stakeholders.

El Capitan Environmental Services, Inc. (El Capitan), is a full-service environmental engineering, consulting, and contracting firm based in the San Fernando Valley and Orange County.
El Capitan provides comprehensive technical and practical proficiency in various domains, notably in the domain of soil and groundwater remediation (phase III). This includes offering services such as permitting, design, construction, and operation and maintenance of remediation systems, all in strict adherence to regulatory requirements. Additionally, El Capitan offers monitoring services (phase IV) such as evaluation and verification of effectiveness, confirmation, and site closure. The organization collaborates with clients to scrutinize Phase I and Phase II site assessments and assists them in navigating the permitting process. Moreover, El Capitan provides guidance to clients in formulating remedial action plans.
